I have been on Windows 7 since the Release Candidate; and I have to say that I absolutely love it. It had been great to me: faster boot-ups and shut-downs, easier to use, looks better, faster; the list could go on forever. That is not the point of this article though. The point is; if you are a student - Go Party!

Is that Office 2007 you are looking at above? Nope. It is OpenOffice.org. In case you don't know what that is, it is a free alternative to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. I have tried it, and it works just fine, and it can even save, and open Office documents. The only thing I didn't like about it, though, was that it didn't have the ribbon interface of Office 2007. If you are subscribed to TechNet or MSDN, go party. Seriously.
Subscribers to TechNet and MSDN will be able to get their hands on the completed and final Windows 7 now.
Large businesses with volume license deals for Windows 7 will get their hands on the completed product tomorrow, Friday.
Other large businesses will get the product on September first.
For the rest of us, and small businesses, will have to wait until October 22. That is when the product will hit retail...

If you don't know, the Google CEO, Eric Schmidt joined the Apple board about three years ago. Here is an excerpt from a blog post on Cnet:

I say it all started with Bing. Microsoft and Google are in serious war right now. Many new announces and future products coming out from each company are almost directly aimed to compete with a product from the other company. Let me give you a few examples:
Google:
